The Meaning of Eclipses

Updated: Jun 29, 2018

Eclipses are super powered Solar and Lunar events that can often be harbingers of intense events and experiences. Eclipses are some of the most recorded events in the history of Astrology, as ancient Astrologers used something called the Saros Cycle to predict their movement.

There are three types of Eclipse. Lunar; where the Full Moon and Sun are on opposite sides of the Earth and the Earths shadow falls on the Moon. Annular Solar; which occurs at a New Moon and is a partial eclipse due to the proximity of the Moon and Total Solar Eclipse, where the Moon is closer to Earth and it's Umbra or shadow falls precisely on Earth. Astrologer Melanie Reinhart writes " The Sun is the Future, The Moon the Past and the Earth the Present. With a Lunar Eclipse the past is blotted out by the present. With a Solar, the Future is affected by the Past and registered in the present. The predictive method for understanding what kinds of things will be at play is the Nodal Axis.
