Our first Eclipse of 2025 is in the adaptable and discriminating Earth sign of Virgo at approximately 24 degrees, setting off this year’s Pisces/Virgo eclipse set which will continue into 2026. In this event, 100% of the reflected light of the Sun on the Moon’s surface will be obscured by Earth’s Umbra, causing it to appear Red.
Accordingly is called a "Blood Moon"
Lunar eclipses are almost always times of energetic obfuscation, and release. They are portals and can herald endings too. Though this Eclipse is connected to wild card Uranus, where anything can happen, we can look to clues within the event for information on how this could play out for us collectively, and if you know your natal astrology, personally.
First, the Eclipses dispositor or planetary ruler, is Mercury stationed at 9 degrees of Aries, ready to Retrograde for the first of 3 events in 2025.
In Natal Astrology, the planet Mercury represents the mind, thinking, communication styles, expression. As a Mundane energy, Mercury also includes commerce, travel and financial markets.
Mercury as “god symbol” was/is unique in the Greco-Roman pantheon. Androgynous and wearing winged sandals, he was the only Olympian to move freely between the realms or worlds. Besides being the god of commerce, messages and travel, Mercury/Hermes was also a psychopomp, guiding the dead to the underworld, and a patron of shepherds, cheats and thieves.
Mercury symbolically, as our mind or awareness connects with how we move between levels of consciousness, crossing thresholds of perception. Mercury is also the substance that enables the alchemical transformation, hinting at how changes in perception can radically alter our world.
Second, note how Mercury’s RX parallels the current Venus Retrograde. During the next 3 weeks it never moves more than 3 degrees away from the Planet/Goddess of relating, pleasure and attraction. As both energies travel in the Underworld portion of their cyclical journeys, this Eclipse will definitely set off/ or reflect a time when we are also “in the dark” about their respective themes.
Also, Saturn, Lord of the “difficult passage” and Neptune of “Psychic Reality” conjoin our Sun (the Light /Spirit of the Time) and oppose the Eclipse.

In a month with two personal planets Retrograde and where we have at various times 5 classical planets in mystical and sensitive Pisces, feeling our way through the dark, tipping our cups, lowering the flags we carry may we appropriate.
Life in its seasons and cycles contains endings and difficulties too. We must not be afraid to honestly assess this reality.
My suggestion for observing the time is to release with an energetic purifying bath. You can get as detailed or simple as you want, using scraper tools, smudging, or salt bathing.
The key is allowing the old to go as you cleanse and release.
